Job Description

Introduction
A well-established small animal practice in Seattle, Washington is seeking a Medical Director to lead its next phase of growth. Currently operating with a single DVM and a strong, consistent caseload, this is a unique opportunity for either an experienced Medical Director or an experienced Associate Veterinarian ready to step into leadership. With the recent addition of a new Hospital Director, the practice is focused on building a sustainable, collaborative environment while continuing to deliver high-quality care to a loyal client base, with a particularly strong feline caseload.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and is closed on weekends, offering a consistent daytime schedule with no on-call or after-hours responsibilities, while allowing dedicated time for both clinical work and leadership duties.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you will combine clinical practice with leadership, managing a busy and varied caseload while mentoring and developing the veterinary team, establishing medical protocols, and working closely with the Hospital Director to support growth, recruitment, and overall hospital performance, with the flexibility to shape the role around your leadership style and clinical interests.

Practice Details
The practice provides comprehensive care for cats and dogs, with a notably strong feline caseload, offering a full range of services including preventative medicine, diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry, within an environment that supports clinical autonomy and encourages veterinarians to introduce and develop services aligned with their individual skills and interests.

Team
You will work alongside a dedicated support team and partner closely with a newly appointed Hospital Director, playing a key role in expanding the veterinary team and shaping a collaborative, supportive culture that prioritises communication, mentorship, and long-term professional development.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
