Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital in Sarasota, Florida hiring an Emergency Veterinarian to join their emergency and specialty center. They provide high-quality emergency and critical care within a state-of-the-art environment and are seeking a clinician who values excellence, compassion, and collaboration.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24 hours on Mondays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Additional coverage includes Tuesday from 12:00am to 8:00am and 5:30pm to 8:00am, Wednesday from 5:30pm to 8:00am, Thursday from 5:30pm to 8:00am, and Friday from 5:30pm to 12:00am. This position can be full or part time, offering flexibility within a dedicated emergency schedule.
Role Description and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include providing emergency and critical care, managing urgent and complex cases, and working closely with an experienced emergency team. The role incorporates the use of advanced diagnostics and technologies, including endoscopy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and is suited to experienced veterinarians.
Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with advanced in-house diagnostics including a full IDEXX lab, blood gas analyzers, coagulation profiles, bile acids and cortisol testing, Heska blood typing, an Imagyst digital slide reader, cytospin, Vimago CT, and a force triad vessel fusion system. Additional equipment includes a veterinary PRP/stem cell centrifuge, hyperbaric oxygen chamber, Snyder oxygen cages, and a therapeutic laser. Facilities support services such as advanced imaging, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, emergency and critical care, and minimally invasive procedures. The practice culture emphasizes a positive and supportive work environment where clinicians can grow and learn.
Team
The team currently includes 1 DVM supported by emergency and specialty staff in a collaborative and skilled environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
