Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital that is seeking a Medical Director to join and lead the team at a small animal practice located in beautiful Sarasota, FL. The clinic provides comprehensive care for dogs and cats and is focused on fostering a positive, growth-oriented environment for its team and a high standard of care for its patients.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and on Wednesday and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. It is closed on Sundays. This role is full-time.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will fulfill all responsibilities expected of a General Practice Veterinarian, including medical, surgical, and dental care for small animals. The position also includes leadership responsibilities, guiding the clinical team and supporting hospital operations.

The hospital is a full-service practice with a collaborative and supportive culture. The team operates in a well-equipped facility and is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate veterinary care to the local community.

Team
The clinic currently has five doctors and a well-tenured, established support team, including experienced technicians and a dedicated practice manager. The work environment is collaborative, positive, and focused on both personal and professional development.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
