Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a general practice hospital seeking a full-time Medical Director to join their team. The hospital provides care for dogs and cats and is looking for an experienced veterinarian to lead clinical standards within a well-supported practice.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will combine clinical and leadership responsibilities, providing high-quality care across wellness, diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry. The role includes establishing and maintaining medical standards, mentoring team members, and collaborating with leadership on hospital operations. The position involves managing a varied caseload from routine wellness to more involved medical and surgical cases, while fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian.
Practice Details
The hospital operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and is closed on weekends, with rotating weekends when needed. It is equipped with modern technology including digital radiography, ultrasound, and EKG, with hands-free radiology techniques and a focus on fear-free care where possible. The practice offers a wide range of services including preventive care, wellness exams, diagnostics, dental care, general surgery, anesthesia, urology, hospitalization, and in-house laboratory and pharmacy services. The hospital emphasizes comprehensive care, a collaborative culture, and strong operational support across multiple areas including marketing and human resources.
Team
The team consists of 1 DVM supported by a tenured support team, creating a collaborative and supportive environment focused on delivering high-quality patient care.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
