Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing comprehensive veterinary care for companion animals and is seeking a Medical Director Veterinarian to lead their clinical team. This long-established practice delivers a broad range of medical, surgical, and dental services, with a strong emphasis on compassionate, high-quality care.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and is closed on weekends. This is a full-time position.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director Veterinarian will oversee medical standards and quality of care, establish and develop medical policies, and ensure compliance with veterinary regulations and standards. Responsibilities include leading clinical operations, reviewing patient records, managing controlled drugs, handling client and patient care concerns, and conducting regular doctor meetings. The role also involves working closely with leadership on budgeting, equipment planning, and hospital operations, while continuing to see patients and deliver high-quality clinical care. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian.

Practice Details
This is a well-established hospital with over 60 years of service, providing urgent and emergency care alongside comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental services for cats and dogs. Services include preventive care, vaccinations, routine exams, internal medicine, emergency care, dental services, boarding, geriatrics, hospice and end-of-life care, and a wide range of surgical procedures including soft tissue, orthopedic, dental, C-sections, and mass removal. The practice is committed to delivering state-of-the-art care with compassion and adheres to high standards of veterinary excellence.

Team
The team consists of 1 DVM supported by a great tenured support team, creating a collaborative and supportive working environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
