Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a full-time Medical Director to lead their veterinary team. This role involves working with dogs, cats, reptiles, pocket pets, and small mammals in a collaborative environment that supports both general practice and exotic animal care.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will provide clinical leadership while mentoring and supporting veterinarians within a highly collaborative team. Responsibilities include overseeing medical standards, delivering patient care across wellness and illness cases, and performing procedures such as spay and neuter, preventative care, and diagnostics. The role also includes fostering a positive team culture, supporting staff development, and sharing knowledge within the team. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian with strong leadership skills and a passion for teaching.
Practice Details
The hospital operates Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 6:00pm, Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and Saturday from 8:30am to 2:00pm. Services include wellness and sick exams, vaccinations, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention, spay and neuter procedures, blood, urine, and fecal testing, preventative dental care, diagnostic testing, end-of-life care, and routine services such as nail trims. The hospital also provides palliative and hospice care, including in-home support, and features a dedicated exotic treatment area. The practice promotes a collaborative culture with a strong focus on community involvement and delivering high-quality care across a varied caseload.
Team
The team consists of 4 DVMs supported by a tenured support staff, creating a collaborative and experienced working environment with a strong team culture.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
