Job Description

Introduction
Our client is an AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital serving dogs and cats in Greece and the surrounding Rochester, New York communities. Established in 1976, the hospital provides primary veterinary care with a focus on high-quality medicine, honesty, compassion, and exceptional client service. They are seeking an experienced Medical Director Veterinarian to join the practice on a full-time basis, combining clinical leadership with responsibility for supporting the continued development and growth of the hospital.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director Veterinarian will serve as a key hospital leader, helping shape the practice’s vision, culture, clinical standards, and approach to patient and client care. Working alongside the Practice Manager and leadership team, they will develop strategies, implement improvements, drive positive change and growth, and support the ongoing development of hospital staff. The successful veterinarian will have a passion for teaching and sharing their knowledge within a highly collaborative environment while maintaining the hospital’s high standards of veterinary care. This position is for an experienced veterinarian.

Practice Details
The AAHA-accredited hospital operates from an updated facility and has served its local community since 1976. The practice provides primary care for dogs and cats, including personalized preventive care, wellness and sickness examinations, vaccinations, flea and tick prevention, spay and neuter procedures, and blood, urine, and fecal testing. The hospital follows AAHA guidelines with an emphasis on excellent client experiences and high-quality patient care, treating patients with kindness and respect while serving clients with honesty and compassion. Hospital hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, Friday from 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM–2:00 PM.

Team
The hospital has four DVMs and a great tenured support team. The environment is highly collaborative and committed to excellence, with the incoming Medical Director expected to support staff development through teaching, knowledge sharing, leadership, and collaboration while helping maintain a strong hospital culture.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
