Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a full-time Medical Director to lead their veterinary team. This role involves working with dogs and cats in an AAHA-accredited small animal practice, focused on delivering high-quality care within a collaborative and community-driven environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director position involves providing clinical leadership while supporting and mentoring veterinarians within a highly collaborative team. Responsibilities include overseeing medical standards, delivering patient care across wellness and illness cases, and performing procedures such as spay and neuter, preventative care, and diagnostics. The role also includes fostering a positive team culture and sharing knowledge to support team development. This opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian with strong leadership skills and a passion for teaching.

Practice Details
The hospital operates Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 6:00pm, Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and Saturday from 8:00am to 2:00pm. It is an AAHA-accredited facility that provides services including wellness and sickness exams, vaccinations, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention, spay and neuter procedures, blood, urine, and fecal testing, preventative dental care, end-of-life care, and routine services such as nail trims. The practice operates from an updated facility and emphasizes high-quality medicine, strong client relationships, and a collaborative culture.

Team
The team consists of 3 DVMs supported by a tenured support staff, creating a collaborative and experienced working environment with a strong sense of teamwork.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
