Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a small animal hospital providing comprehensive care for cats and dogs. They are currently seeking a Medical Director Veterinarian to lead the clinical team while maintaining an active role in general practice.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday to Wednesday from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, Thursday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. This is a full-time position, with doctor hours open to discussion to allow for flexibility.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role involves a full scope of general practice responsibilities alongside leadership duties. The Medical Director Veterinarian will provide high-quality clinical care while guiding and supporting the veterinary team. The position is suited to an experienced veterinarian, with an expectation of both clinical excellence and leadership capability.

Practice Details
The hospital is well equipped with the latest veterinary technology, including digital radiography and ultrasound. It offers a full scope of general practice services and is both AAHA Accredited and Fear Free Certified, reflecting a strong commitment to high standards of care and patient experience.

Team
The practice is supported by a team of four DVMs and a well-trained group of support staff. The working environment is described as supportive and collaborative, fostering teamwork and shared clinical standards.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
