Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital launching a new 24/7 emergency and multi-specialty facility, seeking a Specialty Medical Director Veterinarian to lead the hospital on a full-time basis.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all specialty and emergency medical services within the hospital. You will lead the medical team, including hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and performance management of veterinarians, while fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and clinical excellence. Working in a dyad leadership model alongside the Hospital Director, you will help guide hospital strategy, operations, and financial performance. Clinical responsibilities include overseeing patient care standards, managing workflows, supporting complex case management, and ensuring compassionate, efficient service delivery. You will also lead doctor scheduling, departmental communication, and referral partner engagement while addressing escalated client and patient care concerns. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian with strong leadership capabilities who has at least 5 – 7 years of progressive growth and experience in a veterinary organization.

This is a newly developed, state-of-the-art 24/7 emergency and multi-specialty hospital designed to deliver advanced veterinary care in a collaborative environment. The facility is built with modern equipment and infrastructure to support high-level specialty and emergency services. The hospital operates continuously, providing comprehensive care around the clock. The organization emphasizes medical excellence, continuous improvement, and a strong support system for clinicians, including leadership collaboration, professional development opportunities, and a structure designed to enhance both patient care and team wellbeing.

Team
The hospital operates within a collaborative leadership model, with the Medical Director working closely alongside the Hospital Director to lead and support the broader medical and clinical services teams.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
