Introduction
Our client is a small animal veterinary hospital group that is currently seeking a Multi-site Medical Director to lead clinical excellence across two hospital locations. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced veterinarian who is passionate about leadership, mentorship, and driving positive change within a collaborative and people-focused environment. Working Hours / Rota
The hospitals operate Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, with additional hours on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. This is a full-time position, with preferred scheduling options open for discussion to support work-life balance and leadership responsibilities. The role is structured to allow a balance between clinical oversight, leadership duties, and strategic development.
Role Description and Responsibilities
As the Multi-site Medical Director, you will serve as a key clinical and cultural leader across both hospitals, driving growth, consistency, and excellence in veterinary care. Working closely with the Practice Manager and leadership team, you will help shape the strategic vision of the hospitals, implement operational and clinical improvements, and foster a positive, emotionally intelligent workplace culture. You will support and mentor veterinary teams, uphold high medical standards, and guide the development of clinicians and staff while ensuring exceptional patient and client outcomes. This role is designed for an experienced DVM who is eager to expand their leadership impact while remaining connected to high-quality general practice medicine.
Practice Details
The hospitals are general medicine practices located in the picturesque Potomac, Maryland area and focus on delivering comprehensive primary care services. These include routine physical examinations, vaccinations, diagnostic procedures, and surgical services. The facilities are well equipped and staffed by highly skilled and dedicated team members who are committed to providing excellent care. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining a supportive, emotionally intelligent culture that values collaboration, professional fulfillment, and a healthy work-life balance.
Team
The Multi-site Medical Director will lead and support a team of five DVMs across the two locations, working alongside experienced veterinarians, technicians, and a brilliant support staff. You will collaborate closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Manager to ensure cohesive leadership, smooth operations, and ongoing professional development across both hospitals. The team environment is highly collaborative and focused on shared success, mentorship, and continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
