Job Description

Introduction
A well-established small animal hospital in Post Falls, Idaho is seeking a Medical Director to lead its two-doctor team. This role offers the opportunity to combine hands-on clinical work with leadership, guiding medical standards, mentoring colleagues, and shaping the future of a community-focused practice supported by a national veterinary network.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm with a scheduled midday closure, offering a consistent weekday schedule with no weekend requirements, supporting a strong work-life balance.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will lead the clinical team while maintaining an active caseload, setting and upholding standards of care, mentoring veterinarians and support staff, overseeing medical protocols, and working closely with leadership to support hospital performance, growth, and a positive team culture.

Practice Details
This full-service small animal hospital provides comprehensive care including wellness, preventive medicine, surgery, dentistry, and urgent care, supported by modern equipment such as in-house laboratory systems, digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, and advanced surgical tools, within a collaborative and well-supported clinical environment.

Team
You will lead a team of two veterinarians supported by experienced technicians and support staff, working within a close-knit, collaborative culture that values teamwork, mentorship, and strong client relationships.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
