Job Description
Introduction
Our client is an established small animal hospital hiring for an experienced Managing Veterinarian to lead their team. The clinic provides veterinary care for companion animals and is seeking a leader to oversee both medical and non-medical operations while guiding the practice’s direction and advancing clinical care.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The hospital is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. The Managing Veterinarian position is offered on a full-time basis.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Managing Veterinarian will be responsible for overseeing the hospital’s medical and operational leadership, managing associate veterinarians, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a collaborative team culture. Clinical responsibilities include performing examinations, surgeries, dentistry, interpreting diagnostics, prescribing medications, providing end-of-life care, maintaining medical records, and ensuring adherence to veterinary ethics and policies. The role is suited for an experienced DVM looking to combine clinical practice with leadership and business management.
Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with radiology, in-house laboratory services, pharmacy, surgical facilities, and dental capabilities. Services offered include comprehensive examinations, vaccinations and vaccine counseling, wellness programs, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, microchipping, and pharmacy services. The clinic culture emphasizes client education and team collaboration, creating a supportive and fun working environment.
Team
The team includes 2 DVMs and multiple certified veterinary technicians, along with other support staff. The environment is collaborative and mentoring-focused, with an emphasis on empowering doctors to practice their best medicine supported by a skilled and confident team.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
