Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a full-time Medical Director to lead their veterinary team. This role involves working with cats and dogs in a full-service small animal hospital, delivering high-quality care while guiding clinical standards and team development.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will lead clinical quality and standards while continuing to practice medicine across a range of services including wellness care, diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, and internal medicine. Responsibilities include mentoring veterinarians and support staff, shaping clinical protocols, guiding case management, and supporting hospital growth and performance. The role requires collaboration with the wider team to maintain high standards of patient care and client service. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian with strong leadership skills and a passion for developing both people and clinical excellence.
Practice Details
The hospital operates Monday through Thursday from 7:30am to 7:00pm and Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm, and is closed on weekends. It is a full-service facility offering advanced diagnostics, digital radiology, ultrasound, laser surgery, and in-house laboratory testing. Services include preventive care, wellness exams, vaccinations, parasite control, microchipping, internal medicine, dental care including dental X-rays, anesthesia, general and soft tissue surgery including spays and neuters, hospitalization, pain management, and health certificates. The hospital features an in-house pharmacy, surgical suite, isolation ward, electronic medical records, and a strong focus on preventive medicine and advanced clinical care.
Team
The team consists of 4 DVMs supported by a tenured and experienced support staff, creating a collaborative and well-supported environment focused on high-quality patient care and professional development.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
