Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital hiring a Medical Director in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. The practice delivers comprehensive small animal care within a busy, community-focused setting and offers the opportunity to combine clinical excellence with hands-on leadership. This role allows a Medical Director to shape medical quality, mentor the clinical team, and influence the overall direction of the hospital while remaining actively involved in patient care.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday from 8:30am to 7:00pm, Tuesday from 8:30am to 4:00pm, Wednesday from 8:30am to 7:00pm, Thursday from 8:30am to 4:00pm, Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm, Saturday from 9:00am to 12:00pm on an every-other-Saturday basis, and Sunday from 9:00am to 4:00pm. The role is full-time.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will work in close partnership with hospital leadership to set and maintain high medical standards while providing hands-on veterinary care. Clinical responsibilities include primary care, internal medicine, dentistry with dental radiography, anesthesia including sevoflurane anesthesia, general and soft tissue surgery, select orthopedic procedures, spays and neuters, pain management, hospice care, urology, video otoscopy, and the management of urgent and sick visits. The role also includes mentoring and coaching veterinarians and support staff, fostering a positive and inclusive culture, guiding medical protocols, supporting hospital initiatives, and contributing to the overall performance and direction of the practice. This position is open to experienced veterinarians and those earlier in their careers who are interested in leadership and mentorship.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with digital radiography including dental radiographs, a user-friendly electronic medical records system, and comprehensive in-house diagnostic and treatment capabilities. Facilities include an in-house laboratory, in-house pharmacy, in-office surgical suite, intensive care unit, isolation ward, and hospitalization areas. Services provided span primary care, preventive medicine, internal medicine, advanced and routine surgery, dentistry, anesthesia, pain management, hospice care, diagnostic imaging, and wellness programs. The practice is described as busy and growing, with a loyal and appreciative client base built over more than 35 years of service to the local community.

Team
The team consists of three DVMs supported by a great and experienced support team, including veterinary assistants and credentialed technicians. The environment is collaborative, mentoring-focused, and team-oriented, with a strong emphasis on trust, professional development, and delivering high-quality patient and client care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
