Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital hiring for a Medical Director. This is a well-established small animal general practice serving dogs and cats, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to step into a leadership role within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday to Tuesday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Wednesday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Thursday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The position is full-time.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role is suited to an experienced veterinarian ready to lead both clinically and operationally. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality care across wellness, preventative medicine, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and diagnostics, while overseeing medical standards and supporting team development. You will work closely with the Practice Manager to help guide the direction of the hospital, maintain strong client relationships, and foster a positive, collaborative culture within the team.

Practice Details
This is a full-service small animal hospital with over 36 years of service to the community and a strong reputation for compassionate, high-quality care. The practice sees a consistent caseload of at least 13 patients per day and offers services including wellness care, vaccinations, dental care, diagnostics and imaging, spay and neuter, dermatology, surgery, nutrition counseling, pain management, and laser therapy. The hospital is equipped with radiology, in-house ultrasound, dental radiology, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery capabilities, and cold laser therapy. The culture emphasizes strong client relationships, excellent medicine, and a supportive environment where both veterinarians and support staff can thrive.

Team
The team consists of 4 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team with a 2:1 staff-to-doctor ratio, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
