Introduction
This small animal general practice in Parker, Colorado is seeking an experienced Veterinarian Medical Director to lead its clinical team. The hospital provides primary care exclusively for cats and dogs and is looking for a veterinarian who wants to combine hands-on clinical medicine with leadership, mentorship and responsibility for the continued development of the practice. This is an opportunity for an established veterinarian to influence medical standards and team culture while remaining actively involved in patient care.

Working Hours / Rota
The position is full-time, combining clinical responsibilities with dedicated Medical Director duties. The hospital is open Monday through Friday and is closed at weekends, providing a consistent weekday working environment. The Medical Director will divide their time between managing their own clinical caseload and supporting the wider veterinary and hospital team.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you’ll provide comprehensive small animal medicine while taking the clinical lead within the hospital. You’ll work closely with the Practice Manager and hospital leadership to maintain high medical standards, support day-to-day hospital performance and create a positive and collaborative working environment. A significant part of the position involves mentoring and developing associate veterinarians, supporting recruitment and retention, and helping doctors progress clinically and professionally. At least three years of veterinary practice experience is required, alongside strong communication skills and the ability to coach, motivate and support other team members.

Practice Details
The hospital is an established general practice serving cats and dogs throughout Parker and the surrounding communities, with a focus on accessible, high-quality primary veterinary care. The Medical Director will have autonomy to help shape the hospital’s medical direction while having access to additional leadership development, mentorship and clinical resources. The position is well suited to a veterinarian who enjoys practising medicine but is ready to have a broader impact through developing other doctors, strengthening clinical standards and helping guide the future growth of the hospital.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
