Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing veterinary care for dogs and cats and is currently hiring for a Medical Director position. This role combines clinical practice with leadership responsibility, offering the opportunity to guide medical standards while remaining hands-on in patient care.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position with the Medical Director working four days per week. The hospital opening hours are Monday closed, Tuesday 9 am–6 pm, Wednesday 9 am–6 pm, Thursday 9 am–6 pm, Friday closed, Saturday 10 am–6 pm, and Sunday 10 am–6 pm.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will serve as the primary medical leader while maintaining an active clinical role approximately four days per week. Clinical responsibilities include delivering evidence-based medicine and comprehensive care across wellness, preventative, urgent, and surgical services. The role involves establishing and maintaining high medical standards, shaping medical protocols, mentoring Associate DVMs, and supporting quality improvement initiatives. Candidates with 3–5 years of clinical experience are preferred, and previous leadership or mentoring experience is highly desirable.

Practice Details
The hospital is a modern, spacious facility designed to support efficiency, comfort, and high-quality care. It offers outstanding wellness, preventative, urgent, and emergency services in a welcoming neighborhood setting. The practice is equipped with therapeutic laser technology and provides a wide range of services including urgent care, wellness exams, diagnostics, vaccinations, dental cleanings, surgeries, spays and neuters, end-of-life care, sick visits, puppy and kitten care, health certificates, on-site pharmacy services, and therapeutic laser treatments. Dedicated wellness spaces for the team, including a fully stocked snack room and an outdoor break area, are integrated into the practice environment.

Team
The team currently includes one DVM and a supportive, collaborative group of staff. The hospital culture emphasizes teamwork, mentorship, and open communication, fostering an environment where collaboration, professional development, and workplace positivity are strongly valued.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
