Introduction
Our client is a veterinary specialty and emergency hospital hiring for a Specialty Medical Director. The hospital provides advanced specialty and emergency veterinary services for cats and dogs and serves Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter, Stuart, and surrounding areas. The role offers the opportunity to lead a specialty hospital while helping to develop services and support the veterinary team.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The hospital provides emergency care 24 hours a day. Specialty care services operate Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Specialty Medical Director will oversee the medical team while contributing to the delivery of advanced specialty and emergency veterinary care. The role includes supporting the development of clinical services and leading the hospital’s veterinary team while working closely with leadership support and the Medical Initiatives Committee. The hospital provides specialized care in areas including surgery, internal medicine, dermatology, oncology, and critical care. This position is open to experienced veterinarians.

Practice Details
The hospital provides 24/7 emergency veterinary care alongside advanced specialty services for cats and dogs. The facility offers state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment capabilities including an active I-131 therapy ward, ultrasound, Olympus endoscopy, fluoroscopy, high-definition laparoscopy, high-definition male and female cystoscopy, interventional radiology, and a diode laser. The hospital supports a strong emergency room team with extensive experience and includes board-certified specialists in critical care, internal medicine, surgery, oncology, and dermatology. The practice focuses on innovative medicine through collaborative input from the veterinary team and aims to provide compassionate, high-quality care in a calm and welcoming environment.

Team
The hospital team consists of 5 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team, creating a collaborative and experienced working environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
