Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Director to lead their team in Orlando, FL. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to step into a leadership role within a well-established small animal practice that cares for dogs and cats.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The hospital’s hours of operation are Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Wednesday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The hospital is closed on Sundays.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will provide all services expected of a general practice veterinarian, including wellness care, dentistry, internal medicine, surgery, and the management of daytime emergencies. In addition to clinical duties, this role includes leadership responsibilities such as overseeing medical protocols, supporting and mentoring the veterinary team, and collaborating with the hospital manager to ensure smooth operations. This opportunity is open to experienced veterinarians only.
Practice Details
The hospital has maintained AAHA accreditation and Fear Free certification for over 20 years. They offer comprehensive services including wellness care, dentistry, advanced soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, and emergency care during daytime hours. The facility is equipped with three exam rooms (with room for expansion), a dedicated dental suite with dental x-rays, an operating suite, digital x-rays, and ultrasound technology, allowing the team to practice high-quality, modern medicine in a progressive neighborhood setting.
Team
The hospital is currently home to a two-doctor team, supported by a highly experienced and tenured support staff with a 2:1 technician-to-doctor ratio. The environment is collaborative and fosters both professional growth and clinical excellence, with strong support from the leadership team, including an experienced hospital manager.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
