Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a practice seeking a full-time Lead Veterinarian to join their team. The hospital sees dogs and cats, as well as birds, reptiles, ferrets, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and more, and offers a full range of services including preventive care, diagnostic tests, surgeries, treatments for illness or pain, and consultations for behavior or nutrition.
Role Description and Responsibilities
In this role, you will collaborate and engage with the clinical team and leadership while assisting the Practice Manager with staffing and scheduling to ensure goals are met. You will be responsible for growing relationships within both the practice and the community, as well as encouraging the development of support staff through the internal training program. The position includes managing a varied caseload, covering both surgeries and appointments, and overseeing the medical care of all patients. You will also serve as the veterinarian of record for all required hospital permits and licenses, while partnering with hospital leadership to ensure medical quality. This opportunity is open to veterinarians with strong leadership experience, as well as those earlier in their careers with aspirations to move into leadership in the future.
Practice Details
The practice operates Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm and is closed on weekends. It is equipped with digital radiography, a butterfly ultrasound, and a surgery suite, supporting a full scope of GP services alongside behavioural medicine. Additional services include surgical services, digital radiography, and laser therapy.
Team
The team consists of 1 DVM supported by a strong technical team, including skilled support staff, creating a collaborative working environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
