Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Specialty Medical Director to join their team on a full-time basis. This 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital provides advanced care for dogs and cats and is looking for an experienced board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Specialist to help lead the medical direction of the hospital while continuing to practice veterinary medicine. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated specialist looking to transition into a leadership role within a collaborative and highly advanced referral environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As Specialty Medical Director, you will help establish the medical direction and quality standards of the hospital while continuing to provide specialty veterinary care. Responsibilities include leading and supporting the specialist and emergency teams, maintaining exceptional standards of patient care, fostering collaboration across departments, and contributing to the ongoing development of hospital protocols and medical excellence. You will receive support from regional leadership and work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure outstanding clinical outcomes. The role requires an experienced veterinarian who is board certified or residency trained and interested in combining clinical practice with hospital leadership responsibilities.

Practice Details
This hospital operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and provides a comprehensive range of specialty and emergency services. Specialty departments include Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, Dermatology, and Radiology. The facility is equipped with two high-quality ultrasound units, a full range of endoscopy equipment, computed tomography (CT), digital radiography, advanced anesthetic monitoring equipment, and extensive diagnostic imaging capabilities.
Services offered include echocardiography, electrocardiography, angiography, abdominal and thoracic ultrasonography, ultrasound-guided biopsies and fine needle aspiration, interventional radiology procedures, foreign body removal, advanced emergency and critical care services, bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, cystoscopy, endoscopy, gastroduodenoscopy, rhinoscopy, tracheal and urethral stent placement, immunotherapy, ocular diagnostics, minimally invasive surgery, reconstructive surgery, emergency surgery, bone and joint surgery, brain and spinal surgery, total hip replacement surgery, tissue biopsies, and comprehensive peri-operative monitoring. The hospital also maintains a successful rotating internship program and offers access to a broad network of specialists, creating a collaborative culture focused on advanced patient care, education, and professional development.

The hospital is staffed by 15 veterinarians and a great tenured support team. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
