Introduction
Our client is a hospital looking to hire a full-time Emergency Medical Director. Treating cats and dogs, this emergency and referral hospital is deeply rooted in the local community and offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to lead the emergency service while continuing to deliver outstanding patient care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role covers the full scope of Emergency Medical Director responsibilities, combining hands-on emergency medicine with clinical leadership. You’ll provide high-quality emergency and critical care while leading by example to maintain exceptional clinical standards throughout the emergency department. Responsibilities include overseeing complex emergency and critical care cases, supporting and mentoring the emergency team, promoting collaboration across the hospital, and helping shape the medical direction of the emergency service. You’ll work closely with hospital leadership to drive continuous improvements in patient care, clinical outcomes, and team performance while fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and teamwork. This is a full-time Medical Director schedule with on-the-floor clinical responsibilities Sunday through Tuesday. This opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian.

Practice Details
The hospital provides comprehensive emergency and critical care services for dogs and cats, including emergency consultations and triage, advanced critical care, emergency and soft tissue surgery, hospitalization, intensive patient monitoring, diagnostic testing, management of trauma and toxicities, treatment of acute medical conditions, and compassionate end-of-life care. The practice is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment technology including, but not limited to, digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory diagnostics, multi-parameter monitoring, oxygen therapy, infusion pumps, modern surgical facilities, and dedicated intensive care capabilities. As a 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital, the practice provides around-the-clock emergency care for its patients.

Team
The hospital is supported by a team of 2 DVMs working alongside a strong group of experienced veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff. The collaborative environment encourages teamwork and communication across all levels of the hospital, ensuring patients receive exceptional care while fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture. As Emergency Medical Director, you’ll play a key role in leading the emergency team while promoting clinical excellence and supporting the continued success of the hospital.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
