Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Director to oversee clinical operations within a full-service veterinary practice. The hospital provides comprehensive care for small animals and is part of a nationwide health and wellness company focused on elevating the standards of veterinary care through technology, autonomy, and professional development.

Working Hours / Rota
The schedule offers full-time hours with flexibility and no on-call, late-night, or overnight shifts. Paid open time off with no negative accruals supports work-life balance. The hospital is open from 8:30am – 6pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. It is closed on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Schedules are designed to accommodate individual preferences within the hospital’s operating model.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient care and client experience. Duties include diagnosing and treating medical conditions, performing routine and complex surgical and dental procedures (including radiographs, ultrasounds, extractions, spays/neuters, abdominal exploratories, and mass removals), mentoring the veterinary team, and guiding hospital performance through partnership with field medical and operations leaders. The role also includes reviewing hospital P&L and driving clinical excellence and team development. This position is suitable for experienced veterinarians with a passion for leadership and mentorship.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with advanced tools including cloud-based medical records, digital and dental x-ray, Idexx lab systems, Butterfly iQ+ handheld ultrasound, Vetology Radiograph Interpretation AI, Doppler blood pressure monitoring, and VETSCAN IMAGYST diagnostics. Services provided cover wellness and preventative care, diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, and emergency triage. The culture is focused on continuous learning, autonomous medicine, and compassionate client communication.

Team
The Medical Director will work alongside trained and licensed veterinary technicians and assistants, with support from local medical directors. The team environment is collaborative, inclusive, and mentorship-driven, with professional growth encouraged through leadership training, CE support, and structured advancement opportunities. The number of DVMs and support staff is not specified.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
