Introduction
Our client is an AAHA-accredited small animal hospital seeking an experienced DVM to join its team as Medical Director. This full-time leadership opportunity combines clinical practice with responsibility for shaping the hospital’s medical quality, culture, and future direction. The hospital provides primarily small animal companion medicine across a diverse general practice caseload and has a collaborative, family-oriented culture.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will continue to practice clinically while establishing the direction and medical quality of the hospital. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality general practice medicine, providing exceptional patient care, leading and developing the medical team, mentoring veterinary professionals, and supporting a strong culture of communication and collaboration. The role is suited to an experienced DVM with leadership experience or a demonstrated interest in medical leadership. The schedule consists of a four-day workweek with a rotating Saturday approximately once per month.

Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Thursday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and is closed on Sundays. The AAHA-accredited hospital has updated diagnostic equipment including ultrasound, Tonopen, and laser technology. Services include wellness and preventative care, vaccinations, parasite prevention, dentistry, internal medicine, diagnostics, general and routine surgery, laser surgery, spays and neuters, dermatology, feline hyperthyroidism and diabetes management, geriatric medicine, pain management, allergy and skin care, behavioral and nutritional counseling, weight management, anesthesia, and euthanasia services. The practice operates as a teaching hospital and has a strong commitment to client education and transparent service recommendations.

Team
The hospital has two DVMs and a team that includes credentialed veterinary technicians. The environment is collaborative and teaching-focused, with an emphasis on teamwork, communication, mentorship, continued learning, and developing the next generation of veterinary professionals.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
