Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, New York, seeking a full-time Medical Director. The hospital has served the community for more than 20 years and cares for cats, dogs, pocket pets and rabbits.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you’ll oversee the medical quality and patient care provided by all doctors within the hospital. Working under the guidance of the field management team, you’ll contribute to the hospital’s financial success as part of its management team and set its strategic direction to achieve positive outcomes. Approximately 30% of your time will be dedicated to leadership responsibilities, with the remaining 70% focused on clinical duties as a staff veterinarian. This provides an opportunity to continue practising medicine while shaping the hospital’s medical direction and standards, with influence similar to an owner but without the risks of ownership.

Practice Details
The AAHA-accredited hospital offers hands-free radiology, ultrasound and a separate dental suite with a high-speed dental unit. Medical resources, technology and facilities support the delivery of high-quality care, alongside access to experts in operations, marketing, human resources and payroll. Hospital opening hours are Monday through Friday from 9am to 7pm and Saturday from 9am to 5pm. The hospital is closed on Sundays.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
