Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a brand-new small animal veterinary hospital seeking a Medical Director to join their team on a full-time basis. Opening in March 2027, this is an opportunity to join the hospital from the very beginning, take a leading role in establishing the practice, and help shape its medical direction as it grows.
Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you will deliver comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventative care while taking responsibility for establishing the medical direction and standards of the new hospital. You will practise evidence-based medicine with strong diagnostic support, perform surgical and dental procedures, and develop treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs. As the founding veterinarian, you will play an important role in building and growing the clinic, establishing medical protocols and standards, and shaping the client experience from day one. The position offers a predictable schedule of four clinical days per week with one Saturday every four weeks. The hospital is seeking an experienced veterinarian ready to take on this leadership opportunity.
Practice Details
The hospital will be open Monday to Friday and Saturdays. As a full-service clinic, services will include preventative and wellness care, surgery, dentistry, and diagnostics. The hospital is also open to hearing about additional services and clinical interests that the incoming Medical Director could bring to the practice. You will work within brand-new, modern facilities with up-to-date equipment to support the delivery of high-quality patient care.

You will join as the founding veterinarian and Medical Director, working alongside a fantastic team as the new hospital establishes and grows.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
