Introduction
An established veterinary hospital in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee is seeking an experienced Medical Director to provide clinical leadership while remaining actively involved in patient care. Serving the local community since 1985, the hospital is AAHA accredited and provides comprehensive veterinary care for dogs and cats within a full-service General Practice environment. The position combines hands-on clinical responsibilities with responsibility for supporting medical standards, team development and the continued delivery of high-quality veterinary care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities alongside the clinical leadership responsibilities associated with the Medical Director position. The successful veterinarian will maintain an active caseload across wellness and preventive care, diagnostic investigation, treatment planning, dentistry, surgery and ongoing medical management, while providing leadership and clinical guidance to the wider team. Responsibilities will include supporting high standards of medicine, mentoring veterinary and support professionals, promoting effective clinical communication and contributing to a collaborative hospital culture. The Medical Director will provide direction on clinical matters while continuing to maintain responsibility for their own patients and client relationships.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of GP services, alongside Internal Medicine, advanced Dentistry, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Soft Tissue Surgery, Intensive Care and Behavioral Care. Equipment and clinical capabilities available include, but are not limited to, Digital Radiography, Dental Radiography, EKG and an In-House Laboratory, alongside an In-Office Surgical Suite, In-House Pharmacy, hospitalization facilities and an Isolation Ward. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with the hospital closed on Sundays.

Team
The hospital currently has a two-veterinarian team, supported by an established group of Veterinary Assistants, patient care staff and client service professionals. The incoming Medical Director will provide clinical leadership within this team, supporting collaboration, professional development and consistent medical standards while working alongside the existing veterinarian and wider support team. The hospital’s established support structure allows the Medical Director to balance hands-on clinical responsibilities with the leadership and development of the veterinary team.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
