Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a full-time Medical Director to lead an established, high-quality small animal practice in Mesa. The hospital is AAHA accredited and holds a strong 4.7-star Google rating, reflecting its commitment to excellence in patient care and facility standards. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced veterinarian who values patient advocacy, evidence-based medicine, and working within a supportive, growth-focused environment.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. This is a full-time position.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will oversee clinical operations while practicing progressive, evidence-based small animal medicine. Responsibilities include managing complex cases, building strong client relationships, leading patient care from diagnosis through treatment, and ensuring high clinical standards across the hospital. The role also involves educating clients, collaborating with a supportive paraprofessional team, and engaging with advanced service lines such as Cardiology. This position is suited for an experienced veterinarian.

The facility provides a robust service offering including wellness exams, vaccinations, dental care, spay and neuter procedures, microchipping, sick pet care, diagnostics, surgery, end-of-life care, parasite prevention, dermatology, in-house laboratory services, nutrition, pain management, and laser therapy. The practice culture prioritizes continuous learning, collaboration, and professional development within a well-supported structure.
Team
The hospital is staffed by two DVMs and a great support team that fosters collaboration, mentorship, and a positive hospital culture.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
