Our client is a hospital hiring a Medical Director Veterinarian to join their team working with cats and dogs. This is a full-time leadership opportunity within a full-service veterinary hospital focused on delivering high-quality preventative medicine, diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry while maintaining exceptional client experiences. The practice is seeking an experienced veterinarian with strong leadership abilities who is passionate about clinical excellence, team development, and patient care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director Veterinarian will lead the hospital veterinary team while maintaining a high standard of patient care and client service. Responsibilities include mentoring and coaching veterinarians, supporting continuous improvement in clinical skills and communication, overseeing medical quality standards, ensuring compliance with medical protocols and applicable regulations, participating in interviewing and onboarding, and collaborating with hospital leadership to drive operational and financial performance. Clinical responsibilities include performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, providing preventative care, developing diagnostic and treatment plans, maintaining detailed medical records, and managing hospitalized patients. The role also involves performing routine and complex surgical procedures including spays, neuters, exploratory laparotomy procedures, and mass removals, as well as advanced dental procedures including dental radiograph evaluation, extractions, and oral surgery. Additional responsibilities include participating in rounds, supporting staff education, managing controlled substance compliance, promoting safety protocols, and ensuring continuity of patient care with referral hospitals and clients.

This full-service veterinary hospital is equipped with advanced medical technology and infrastructure designed to support high-quality veterinary medicine and efficient patient care. Services offered include vaccines and microchipping, routine wellness care, illness and injury care with diagnostic imaging, and flea, tick, and heartworm prevention and prescriptions. The hospital promotes a collaborative and supportive culture focused on teamwork, professional growth, safety, and exceptional patient and client experiences. Hospital hours are Monday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Thursday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and the hospital is closed on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
