Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a 24/7 veterinary hospital in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, currently seeking a full-time Medical Director Veterinarian to lead their team. This clinic has been serving the South Central Pennsylvania region since 2012 and provides both urgent care and general veterinary services in a well-equipped, team-oriented environment.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24/7, offering flexibility in scheduling to support a healthy work-life balance. This is a full-time position. Specific doctor hours and scheduling structure will be discussed directly with the clinic to accommodate individual preferences and leadership responsibilities.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This leadership position is best suited for an experienced veterinarian who is confident in both clinical care and team management. Clinical responsibilities include urgent care, wellness, internal medicine, dentistry, and surgical services. The Medical Director will also oversee medical protocols, support the professional development of veterinary staff, and help foster a collaborative and patient-centered culture.
Practice Details
The clinic is equipped with an in-house diagnostic laboratory, digital radiology, and an on-site pharmacy. It maintains a well-supported infrastructure that allows for the efficient delivery of both general practice and urgent care services. The facility is designed to support a steady and diverse caseload while ensuring a smooth workflow and quality patient outcomes.
Team
The team currently includes 4 DVMs and a tenured support staff. The clinic culture is collaborative and supportive, with a focus on long-term team retention and high-quality patient care.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
