Our client is a modern small animal hospital seeking a Full-Time Medical Director to join its team. Caring for cats and dogs, the practice provides comprehensive primary and urgent veterinary care alongside preventative medicine, diagnostics, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. This opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian looking to combine hands-on clinical practice with leadership and strategic oversight.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Medical Director will provide exceptional medical, surgical, and preventative care while leading the hospital’s clinical team and maintaining high standards of veterinary medicine. Clinical responsibilities include performing comprehensive physical examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, developing treatment plans, interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and performing routine and advanced surgical and dental procedures based on experience.
Alongside clinical duties, the Medical Director will mentor and support veterinarians, promote clinical excellence through training and case collaboration, ensure compliance with medical protocols and regulatory standards, and drive quality improvement initiatives. Working closely with hospital leadership, they will help enhance patient outcomes, client satisfaction, and overall hospital performance while fostering a positive and collaborative culture.
Candidates should have at least five years of experience as a veterinarian, with at least one year of experience managing and leading teams of veterinarians preferred.

Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm.
This modern veterinary facility supports primary care, urgent care, diagnostic testing, dentistry, pharmacy services, and soft tissue surgery. Complimentary parking is available in the lot behind the clinic.
Diagnostic capabilities include laboratory testing, bloodwork, urinalysis, X-rays, and full-mouth dental radiography. Dentistry is performed under general anesthesia and includes dental imaging and extractions where required. A fully equipped surgical suite supports soft tissue procedures, with general anesthesia, continuous patient monitoring, pain management, and individualized postoperative recovery plans.
Services include primary care, preventative medicine, urgent care, vaccinations, wellness examinations, nutritional support, parasite prevention, microchipping, allergy and dermatology care, ear infection treatment, chronic disease management, puppy and kitten care, and senior pet care. Same-day and next-day urgent care appointments are available for conditions requiring prompt attention that are not life-threatening emergencies, including minor injuries, sudden appetite or behavioral changes, and signs of acute illness.
Comprehensive dentistry includes anaesthetized dental cleanings, full-mouth dental radiographs, and extractions, alongside soft tissue surgery performed within the surgical suite. A full-service pharmacy provides prescription medications, preventatives, and prescription diets, with clinic pickup or home delivery available. Clients also have access to 24/7 virtual veterinary care for symptom triage, mild illnesses, skin concerns, dietary and behavioral advice, medication support, recovery check-ins, and after-hours guidance.
The practice combines its physical clinics with a technology-focused model, including an app through which clients can schedule appointments and access veterinary support. The practice also emphasizes upfront pricing, allowing clients to view costs before proceeding with recommended care.

Team
The hospital is home to three DVMs, bringing together a veterinary team with a good range of clinical interests. The Medical Director will play an important role within this team, working closely with the veterinarians to provide clinical guidance, mentorship, training, and case collaboration. The role provides the opportunity to support the continued development of the veterinary team while promoting clinical excellence and a positive, collaborative working culture.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
