Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for a Medical Director position. This is a full-service small animal hospital seeking an experienced veterinary leader to oversee medical standards, guide the reopening and growth of the practice, and provide hands-on clinical care. The role offers a unique opportunity to shape medical culture, restore consistent access to care for the local community, and lead a hospital with a long-standing history of service.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital’s current listed hours are closed Monday through Sunday as the practice prepares for reopening. The position is available on a full-time or part-time basis. After-hours, overnight, or weekend rota schedules are to be discussed with the practice.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role is open to experienced veterinarians only. The Medical Director is responsible for providing strong leadership, managing and mentoring associate veterinarians, and ensuring regulatory compliance related to the practice of veterinary medicine. Clinical responsibilities include comprehensive patient exams, diagnostics, surgery, medical record keeping, pharmacy duties, and client communication. Leadership responsibilities include promoting teamwork and staff efficiency, overseeing medical protocols from intake to discharge, participating in practice management initiatives, monitoring hospitalized cases, and partnering with the Hospital Manager on operational priorities. The Medical Director also supports medical quality assurance, staff development, and the delivery of consistent, high-standard patient care.

Practice Details
The hospital has served its community for more than six decades and is reopening with a renewed focus on accessible, compassionate veterinary care. It operates as a full-service facility offering wellness and preventive care, vaccinations, internal medicine, dermatology, dentistry, surgery, cold laser therapy, geriatrics, ophthalmology, and daytime emergency services. Diagnostic capabilities include digital radiography, digital dental X-rays, ultrasound, bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal testing, and ECG/EKG. The practice emphasizes preventive medicine, integrated care, and a collaborative approach to treatment across all life stages.

The hospital is supported by 4 DVMs and a fantastic support team, fostering a collaborative, mentoring-focused environment committed to delivering high-quality veterinary care and rebuilding a trusted neighborhood practice.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
