Introduction
Our client is a veterinary organization seeking a Regional Medical Director to lead and support six general practice clinics in the Los Angeles area. This is a full-time leadership opportunity that combines clinical practice with regional oversight, allowing the successful candidate to continue practicing medicine while mentoring veterinarians, shaping clinical standards, and helping elevate patient care across multiple hospitals.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Regional Medical Director will provide medical leadership and oversight across six general practice hospitals while continuing to practice clinically. Responsibilities include mentoring and developing associate veterinarians, particularly early-career DVMs, supporting clinical growth in areas such as surgery, diagnostics, and case management, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture, and helping drive consistency in the quality of care while respecting the individuality of each hospital. The role also involves partnering closely with the Regional Operations Manager to align medical and operational excellence and acting as a trusted clinical resource for veterinary teams. Candidates should hold, or be able to obtain, a California Veterinary License and have at least five years of clinical experience as a veterinarian. A DEA license is preferred but not required. The successful candidate should be a natural leader and mentor, highly organized, and willing to travel throughout the region to support clinics spanning from Palmdale, CA to Covina, CA.

Team
The Regional Medical Director will work closely with a Regional Operations Manager while providing leadership, mentorship, and clinical support to veterinary teams across six general practice hospitals. The role focuses on developing associate veterinarians, particularly those early in their careers, and fostering a collaborative, positive, and high-performing culture across the region.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
