Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a 24-hour, multi-specialty referral and emergency hospital located in Los Angeles, California. They are seeking a Specialty Medical Director (open to internists, surgeons, criticalists, or other specialty veterinarians) to lead clinical strategy, drive service excellence and contribute to high-level patient care.
Hospital Hours
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are looking for a full time Specialty Medical Director to join their team.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Specialty Medical Director will oversee the hospital’s specialty and emergency teams, guiding clinical standards, mentoring specialist and emergency clinicians, and collaborating across departments to ensure exceptional patient care. The role also includes maintaining an active specialty caseload and defining the vision for growth and clinical innovation.

The hospital offers a comprehensive array of specialty services including emergency & critical care, internal medicine, surgery (orthopedic and soft tissue), neurology, oncology, diagnostic imaging (MRI/CT), physical rehabilitation and many other advanced treatments. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and supports a culture of teaching, referral collaboration and innovation.
Team
The hospital is staffed by board-certified and residency-trained specialists across multiple disciplines, supported by skilled emergency clinicians, technicians, assistants and client service professionals. Together they work in a collaborative, high-expertise environment focused on solving complex cases and advancing veterinary medicine.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
