Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a general practice providing veterinary care for dogs and cats. They are seeking an experienced Medical Director Veterinarian to join the practice on a full-time basis. The clinic has been established for 50 years and has a loyal clientele, with the opportunity for the Medical Director to help lead and grow the practice.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director Veterinarian will lead the veterinary team while continuing to provide clinical care across a varied caseload averaging 18 patients per day. Clinical responsibilities include wellness care, sick and injured pet care, dentistry, diagnostics, imaging, and surgery, including orthopedic procedures, soft tissue surgery, and emergency procedures. The role provides the opportunity to perform diagnostics, procedures, and surgery in-house while helping shape the continued growth of the practice. This position is specifically for an experienced veterinarian.
Practice Details
The practice is equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory capabilities, and dental X-ray, supporting fast diagnostics and a broad range of in-house care. Services include wellness exams, vaccinations, illness and injury care, dental care, diagnostics and imaging, spay and neuter procedures, parasite prevention, deworming, allergies and dermatology, microchipping, and advanced surgery. The practice is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Team
The practice currently has one DVM alongside a tenured and skilled support team, with a support staff ratio of 2:1. The working environment is collaborative, with the Medical Director joining to lead the team and support the continued growth of the practice.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
