Job Description

Introduction
This AAHA-accredited small animal hospital in Littleton, Colorado is seeking a full-time Medical Director Veterinarian to lead its established five-doctor team. Serving the local community since 2007, the hospital provides comprehensive medicine for cats and dogs across preventative care, sick visits, emergency presentations, diagnostics and surgery. This position combines hands-on clinical practice with responsibility for shaping medical quality, supporting the veterinary team and helping guide the continued development of the hospital.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The Medical Director will work a full-time schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week, including a rotation of Saturday shifts.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you’ll continue practising clinically while providing medical leadership to the hospital’s five-doctor team. You’ll help establish and maintain high clinical standards, mentor and support fellow veterinarians and work collaboratively with the wider leadership and support team to influence the direction and quality of medicine within the hospital. The position would suit an experienced veterinarian who enjoys teaching and collaboration while remaining actively involved in patient care and developing strong relationships with clients and their pets.

Practice Details
The hospital has served Littleton and the surrounding communities since 2007 and is AAHA accredited, with a current team of five veterinarians. Its caseload includes wellness, sick and emergency patients, supported by digital radiography, in-house laboratory capabilities and ultrasound alongside soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology and acupuncture services. The team also incorporates Fear Free techniques where possible and places a strong emphasis on collaborative medicine, supportive teamwork and comprehensive care for cats and dogs.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
