Introduction
A long-standing small animal hospital in Littleton, Colorado is seeking an experienced Medical Director to lead its clinical team and guide the next chapter of high-quality veterinary care. With more than four decades of service to the local community, this role is well suited to a veterinarian who enjoys combining hands-on clinical work with leadership, mentorship, and the ability to influence medical standards in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. This role is structured around a four-day workweek, offering consistency, predictable hours, and no on-call responsibilities.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you will balance clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, continuing to see patients while setting and upholding medical standards across the hospital. You will oversee case management, support the development of clinical protocols and standard operating procedures, and provide mentorship to the veterinary team. The caseload includes a mix of wellness care, diagnostics, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry, with appointment lengths designed to support thorough medicine and clear client communication. This role offers the autonomy to shape clinical direction while working closely with hospital leadership to support growth, efficiency, and excellent patient outcomes.

Practice Details
The hospital provides comprehensive small animal care supported by on-site pharmacy, laboratory, and hospitalisation capabilities. The facility is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory services, with ongoing interior and exterior upgrades underway to further enhance the clinical environment. The focus is on delivering consistent, high-quality care with an emphasis on preventive medicine, surgery, and dentistry.

You will be leading a close-knit two-veterinarian team within a collaborative and supportive workplace culture. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
