Introduction
Our client is a well-established small animal hospital that has been proudly serving the Harnett County community since 1985. They are seeking a Medical Director to lead their team while continuing to deliver trusted, high-quality veterinary care. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys combining hands-on clinical practice with leadership, mentorship, and hospital development.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30am to 5:30pm, Friday from 7:30am to 5:00pm, and Saturday from 8:30am to 12:00pm, with Sunday hours reserved for boarding pick-ups only. This is a full-time position with a schedule designed to support both work-life balance and continuity of care. Weekend and evening hours are limited, and there are no after-hours emergency requirements.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you will play a dual role of clinician and leader. Clinically, you will provide high-quality care across a wide range of services, including wellness and preventative medicine, internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, dermatology, radiology, cardiology, endocrinology, acupuncture, and more. Leadership responsibilities include mentoring veterinarians and support staff, ensuring best medical practices, guiding the hospital’s culture, and contributing to the long-term vision of the practice. This position is open to experienced veterinarians who are eager to step into a leadership role, shape hospital standards, and drive positive change.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic tools, including digital radiology, ultrasonography, tonometry, cold laser therapy, and patient monitoring equipment. They also provide alternative modalities such as acupuncture, alongside comprehensive surgical and medical services. The hospital has deep community roots and prides itself on compassionate, personalized care supported by modern facilities and an innovative outlook.

You will join a team of three experienced DVMs and a strong group of support staff who thrive in a collaborative, upbeat environment. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
