Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing small animal veterinary care and is seeking a Lead Veterinarian to serve as the medical leader of the practice. This role offers the opportunity to guide clinical standards, support team development, and contribute to a collaborative and high-quality care environment.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The hospital operates Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Saturday from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm, and is closed on Sundays. No after-hours requirements are specified.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Lead Veterinarian will oversee medical care standards while managing a varied caseload including surgeries and appointments. Responsibilities include collaborating with the clinical team and leadership, supporting staffing and scheduling alongside the Practice Manager, and fostering strong relationships within the practice and community. The role also involves mentoring and developing support staff, overseeing patient care, serving as the veterinarian of record for permits and licenses, and partnering with leadership to maintain medical quality. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian, with support available for those looking to grow into leadership.
Practice Details
This is an AAHA-accredited small animal hospital serving dogs and cats, with over 40 years of community presence. The facility is equipped with digital X-rays, ultrasound, endoscopy, and digital dental radiography, supporting high-quality diagnostics and treatment. Services offered include behavioral medicine, boarding, dental care, diagnostics and laboratory services, end-of-life care, microchipping, nutritional counseling, and baths and nail trims. The practice emphasizes compassionate care, strong client relationships, and a commitment to both physical and mental wellbeing of patients within a supportive and growth-focused environment.

Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
