Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital providing comprehensive small animal care, seeking a Lead Veterinarian to join their team on a full-time basis.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role combines clinical excellence with leadership responsibilities, positioning you as the medical leader of the practice. You will manage a varied caseload including consultations, surgery, and ongoing patient care while ensuring high standards of medical quality across the hospital. Responsibilities include overseeing patient care, supporting staffing and scheduling alongside the Practice Manager, mentoring and developing team members, and fostering strong relationships within the practice and wider community. You will also serve as the veterinarian of record for hospital permits and licenses and partner with leadership to maintain operational and clinical standards. This position is suited to experienced veterinarians, with opportunities for those looking to further develop their leadership skills.
Practice Details
This is an AAHA-accredited, multi-doctor practice with over 40 years of service to the local community, offering a wide range of small animal services. The hospital is equipped with advanced technology including digital X-rays, ultrasound, endoscopy, and digital dental radiography. Services include wellness exams, surgery and anesthesia, dental care, diagnostics and laboratory services, behavioral medicine, pain management, parasite prevention, nutritional counseling, wound care, and end-of-life care. The practice emphasizes high-quality, compassionate care and a collaborative, supportive culture, with a strong focus on both patient wellbeing and client relationships. Hospital hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm, Saturday from 8:30am to 12:00pm, and closed on Sunday.
Team
The team consists of 2 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team, creating a collaborative and mentoring-focused environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
