Job Description
Introduction
This well-established small animal and exotics practice in Las Vegas, Nevada is seeking a Medical Director to lead its experienced veterinary team while continuing to practice high-quality medicine. With two veterinarians currently on staff, the hospital provides comprehensive care for dogs, cats, reptiles, small mammals, poultry, ferrets, and other exotic species in a collaborative, progressive environment. The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm, Saturday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and is closed on Sundays, supporting an excellent work-life balance.
Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you’ll combine clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, spending the majority of your time seeing patients while mentoring veterinarians, maintaining medical standards, and supporting the continued growth of the hospital. You’ll work closely with the Practice Manager to oversee clinical quality, develop the veterinary team, optimise workflows, recruit new doctors, and help drive both patient care and hospital performance.
Practice Details
This established general practice provides preventative care, diagnostics, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and exotic animal medicine in a modern, well-equipped facility. The hospital is equipped with digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, cold laser therapy, surgical laser technology, and a range of advanced diagnostic equipment, allowing doctors to provide a broad spectrum of medical and surgical services while maintaining a progressive approach to patient care.
Team
You’ll join a supportive team of two veterinarians alongside experienced licensed technicians and veterinary assistants in a collaborative, drama-free environment. The practice places a strong emphasis on teamwork, mentorship, medical excellence, and maintaining a positive workplace culture where every team member is empowered to succeed.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
