Job Description
Introduction
This small animal hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada is seeking a full-time Medical Director to lead its clinical team. The hospital currently has one veterinarian and provides comprehensive care for dogs and cats, ranging from routine wellness through more involved medical cases and surgery. This position combines hands-on clinical medicine with the opportunity to establish the medical direction and clinical standards of the hospital as the team continues to develop.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. This is a full-time position, with rotating weekend coverage required when needed. The Medical Director will balance their own clinical caseload with leadership responsibilities across the hospital.
Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you’ll remain actively involved in patient care while providing clinical leadership to the hospital team. You’ll help establish medical standards and protocols, support clinical quality and guide the continued development of the veterinary service while working collaboratively with the wider team. The role also provides opportunities to mentor and teach colleagues, contribute to the hospital’s overall direction and maintain strong relationships with clients while managing your own medical and surgical cases.
Practice Details
The hospital currently has one veterinarian and provides comprehensive general practice medicine for dogs and cats, including preventative care, diagnostics, management of more involved medical cases and surgery. The facility offers modern veterinary technology including digital radiography and ultrasound, with hands-free radiology techniques and Fear Free approaches used where possible. The environment is designed around collaborative medicine and gives the incoming Medical Director an opportunity to play a significant role in shaping clinical quality as the hospital develops.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
