Introduction
This is a compelling opportunity for an experienced Veterinarian to step into a Medical Director role within an AAHA-accredited small animal hospital delivering high-quality, full-service veterinary care in Las Vegas, Nevada. The position is ideal for a clinician who enjoys combining hands-on medicine with leadership responsibility, setting medical standards, and shaping the clinical direction of a well-established hospital. It offers genuine autonomy and influence within a supportive and well-resourced environment.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday to Friday from 7am to 7pm and on Saturdays from 8am to 5pm, with no Sunday opening. This is a full-time position with a structured and predictable rota, allowing time to balance clinical leadership responsibilities with ongoing case work and team support.
Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you will lead medical quality and clinical standards across the hospital while continuing to practise as a clinician. You will guide and mentor associate veterinarians, support professional development, and foster a collaborative, high-performing clinical culture. The role includes oversight of medical protocols, case management standards, and clinical decision-making, working closely with hospital leadership to support patient care, client service, and the ongoing success of the practice. This position suits a veterinarian who enjoys leadership, teaching, and driving continuous improvement while remaining clinically active.
Practice Details
The hospital is a long-established, AAHA-accredited small animal practice providing comprehensive care for dogs and cats. Clinical services range from routine wellness and preventative medicine through to complex medical cases and surgery. The hospital is equipped with modern diagnostic and treatment technology, including digital radiography, ultrasound, cold laser therapy, endoscopy, and soft tissue surgical capabilities, enabling a high standard of contemporary veterinary medicine to be practised consistently.
Team
You will lead a dedicated team of two veterinarians, supported by experienced technicians and support staff. The team culture is collaborative, professional, and focused on delivering high standards of care. This close-knit structure allows the Medical Director to have a meaningful impact on both clinical quality and team development while working in a supportive environment built on trust and shared goals.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
