Introduction
This AAHA-accredited small animal hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada is seeking a Veterinary Medical Director to lead its three-doctor team. The position combines hands-on clinical practice with responsibility for medical standards, doctor development and the continued growth of the hospital. The practice provides comprehensive general medicine alongside advanced surgery, dentistry, laser therapy and urgent care, creating a varied clinical environment for an experienced veterinarian ready to take on a leadership role.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, with Sundays closed. The Medical Director will balance clinical responsibilities with dedicated leadership responsibilities, working alongside the wider hospital team to support effective scheduling, patient care and day-to-day clinical operations.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you’ll remain actively involved in clinical medicine while providing leadership and mentorship to the veterinary team. You’ll help establish and maintain medical protocols and clinical standards, review outcomes and support doctors with complex cases and continued professional development. You’ll also collaborate closely with the Hospital Manager on hospital performance, team development and opportunities for improvement, while helping maintain strong communication and client care standards. The position is particularly suited to an experienced veterinarian with strong clinical skills and previous leadership or mentoring experience.

Practice Details
The AAHA-accredited hospital has a three-doctor team and provides full-spectrum small animal care, including preventative and general medicine, advanced surgical procedures, comprehensive dentistry, laser therapy and urgent care. The clinical environment is centred around collaborative medicine, open communication and continued professional development, with the facilities and resources to support both routine and more advanced patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
