Introduction
Our client is a multi-species veterinary hospital seeking a full-time Medical Director to lead their clinical team while providing care for avians, cats, dogs, pocket pets, rabbits, and ZooMED species.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will combine hands-on clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, overseeing the delivery of high-quality veterinary care across a diverse caseload. Clinical duties include performing wellness exams, preventive care, diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry, as well as managing a variety of medical cases across multiple species. In addition, the role involves mentoring and supporting the veterinary team, maintaining medical standards, ensuring high-quality patient care, and collaborating with staff to foster a compassionate and efficient hospital environment. Strong client communication, accurate medical record keeping, and a commitment to clinical excellence are essential. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian with leadership capability and confidence in a multi-species setting.

Practice Details
The hospital operates Monday to Wednesday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Thursday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, and is closed on weekends. It provides primary care services to a wide range of species and is equipped with digital x-ray systems, an in-house laboratory, and a fully stocked pharmacy. Services offered include pet, behavior, and nutritional counseling, preventive care, wellness exams, vaccinations, parasite control, weight management, allergy care, anesthesia, dental care and dental x-rays, full diagnostics, general surgery, geriatric medicine, hospitalization, in-house laboratory and pharmacy services, surgical suite, oxygen and transfusion therapy, pain management, radiology, and routine surgeries including spays and neuters. The hospital emphasizes compassionate care, work-life balance with a three-day work week and no on-call hours and serves a broad local community.

The hospital currently has 1 DVM and a great tenured support team, creating a close-knit, supportive, and collaborative working environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
