Job Description
Introduction
An established veterinary hospital in Lakewood, Colorado is seeking a full-time Medical Director to lead its experienced and compassionate team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the medical vision of the practice while continuing to engage in clinical care, supported by modern facilities and a collaborative team environment.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Full-time scheduling offers a balanced workload with flexibility designed to promote sustainability and well-being.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will provide medical leadership, set clinical standards, and mentor associate veterinarians and support staff. Responsibilities include overseeing clinical practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality medicine. The role also involves maintaining a clinical caseload with a focus on preventive care, internal medicine, dentistry, and routine surgeries, while collaborating with hospital management to drive operational excellence and client satisfaction.

The hospital features a modern, well-equipped facility including an in-house laboratory, digital radiography (with dental), ultrasound, and a supportive technical team experienced in anesthetic monitoring and perioperative care. With a long-standing presence in the Lakewood community, the practice has built a reputation for delivering exceptional veterinary care and maintaining strong partnerships with local rescue organizations.

Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
