Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a multi-site Medical Director Veterinarian to provide leadership across their general practice locations in Memphis, Tennessee. The hospitals deliver veterinary care for dogs and cats and are focused on providing high-quality general medicine services within a collaborative and community-focused environment. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian who is passionate about guiding medical standards, mentoring clinical teams, and helping drive continued growth and excellence in patient care.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. Hospital hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday to Sunday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Group Medical Director Veterinarian will lead the clinical teams while continuing to practice veterinary medicine. Responsibilities include mentoring veterinarians, supporting medical excellence across the hospitals, and collaborating closely with practice managers and hospital leadership to improve patient care and outcomes. The role involves guiding hospital strategy, implementing operational improvements, supporting staff development, and helping maintain high medical standards. Clinical duties may include general practice services such as wellness exams, vaccinations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures including spays, neuters, and mass removals. This position is open to experienced veterinarians.

Practice Details
The hospitals are general medicine practices serving the Memphis community and surrounding areas. Services offered include wellness exams, vaccinations, microchip implantation, puppy and kitten care, senior care, in-house diagnostics and laboratory testing, spay and neuter procedures, mass removal surgeries, physical therapy for dogs and cats, doggie daycare, boarding, adoption programs, pharmacy services, and emergency care. The hospitals focus on providing compassionate care while helping pet owners make informed decisions about their pets’ health.

Team
The hospitals have 11 DVMs and a great tenured support team, creating a collaborative environment where veterinarians and staff work together to provide high-quality patient care and support professional development.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
