Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a small animal veterinary hospital that is hiring for a full-time Medical Director. The hospital sees cats and dogs and has been serving the community since 2002. You will be joining an established, high-quality practice recognized by the community with an excellent 4.8-star Google rating. The hospital offers a collaborative clinical environment focused on delivering exceptional patient care while continuing to build upon its strong reputation within the local community.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role involves a full scope of Medical Director responsibilities within a collaborative and patient-focused hospital setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring and developing associate veterinarians, partnering closely with the Practice Manager to build a healthy and engaged team, and driving the continuous improvement of patient care and client service throughout the hospital. This is a key leadership opportunity where the Medical Director will help set the standard for clinical quality while fostering a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and professional growth. Specific doctor hours will be discussed. This opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian with a minimum of two years of practical clinical experience who is passionate about leadership, mentorship, and delivering high-quality veterinary medicine.
Practice Details
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Saturday from 8:00am to 1:00pm, and is closed on Sundays. Equipment available includes, but is not limited to, digital dental X-ray and digital X-ray technology, supporting efficient diagnostics and high-quality patient care across a varied caseload. The hospital holds AAHA accreditation, reflecting its commitment to maintaining high standards of veterinary medicine and patient care. Services offered include orthopedics, urgent care, and a full scope of general practice services. In addition, the hospital also provides laser therapy and pet behavioral therapy, supporting a comprehensive and patient-focused approach to veterinary medicine.
Team
The practice is home to a team of three veterinarians supported by a collaborative and highly structured support staff. The hospital maintains a minimum 2:1 technician-to-doctor ratio, ensuring veterinarians are well supported in delivering high-quality patient care. The collaborative culture across the hospital encourages teamwork, communication, and shared clinical excellence, creating an environment focused on providing seamless and compassionate care to both patients and clients.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
