Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a full-service small animal hospital in Brooklyn, NY, hiring for a Medical Director. The hospital treats small and companion animals and provides gold-standard medical and surgical care for cats and dogs, emphasizing high-quality veterinary care without non-competes, unrealistic production goals, or 12-hour workdays.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position with 30-40 hours per week. Specific doctor hours are open to discussion.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will oversee day-to-day operations, provide medical direction, and maintain high standards of care. The role includes performing routine and advanced soft tissue surgeries, dentistry, and general medical care for small and companion animals. All patients undergoing anesthesia receive pre-op lab work, IV catheter and fluids, and are carefully monitored and recovered by skilled, licensed technicians.

The hospital is equipped with an in-house laboratory, digital radiography, and digital dental radiography. The facility supports a full range of routine and advanced veterinary procedures for small and companion animals, with a focus on gold-standard care. The clinic emphasizes high-quality, compassionate veterinary medicine in a supportive environment.

The hospital has a collaborative team of 3 DVMs supported by an experienced, phenomenal support staff who play a crucial role in patient and client care. The environment emphasizes teamwork, mentorship, and operational excellence.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
