Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Director to join their team, providing care for companion animals and exotics within a full-service veterinary practice known for delivering high-quality, reliable medicine.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The hospital operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and is closed on Sundays.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will split responsibilities between clinical practice and leadership, overseeing medical standards while actively seeing patients. Responsibilities include setting and maintaining medical protocols, mentoring and managing associate veterinarians, ensuring compliance with veterinary regulations, and fostering a collaborative team environment. The role also involves working closely with hospital leadership on budgeting, inventory, and operational performance, as well as monitoring key performance indicators and driving overall hospital success. Additional duties include leading meetings, reviewing patient records, managing client concerns, supporting recruitment, and identifying opportunities for service growth. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian.

This is a full-service veterinary hospital that has been serving its community for over 20 years, offering comprehensive care for companion animals and exotics. The practice provides a wide range of services including routine exams, vaccinations, dental care, geriatric care, internal medicine, grooming, medical boarding, emergency care, and a variety of surgical procedures such as spaying and neutering, soft tissue surgery, C-sections, ocular, and dental surgery. The hospital follows stringent surgical protocols with dedicated surgical suites, electronic patient monitoring, and structured recovery processes. The environment emphasizes compassionate care, teamwork, and access to broader support and resources within a larger network.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
