Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a full-time Medical Director to join their team. Caring for dogs and cats, this AAHA accredited hospital is dedicated to delivering exceptional small animal care while fostering a supportive environment where both patient welfare and professional success are prioritised. This opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian looking to combine hands-on clinical practice with leadership responsibilities in a collaborative and growth-focused setting.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you will serve as the champion of medical excellence within the hospital while continuing to practice as a veterinarian. Responsibilities include mentoring and developing associate veterinarians, conducting performance discussions, supporting individual development goals, and fostering a culture of teamwork and retention. You will partner with the Practice Manager to support hospital operations, develop annual operating plans, and contribute to financial performance goals while ensuring compliance with all medical and DEA regulations. Clinical responsibilities include wellness and preventative care, diagnostics, advanced medical care, and surgical procedures. The role also involves leading monthly doctor meetings, supporting mentorship and externship programmes, championing recruitment initiatives, and serving as an ambassador within the local community. This position is open to experienced veterinarians only.

Practice Details
This AAHA accredited small animal hospital is committed to providing advanced, evidence-based veterinary medicine. Services include wellness and prevention, testing and diagnostics, advanced care, and surgical procedures. The practice offers access to internal specialty consultations, providing additional support for complex cases and helping to deliver advanced treatment options for patients. Team members benefit from company-wide education programmes designed to support continuous learning, professional development, and career progression. Hospital hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and closed on Sundays. The hospital promotes a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and high-quality patient care.

The hospital is staffed by 3 veterinarians and a great tenured support team. The environment is collaborative and supportive, with a strong focus on mentorship, professional development, teamwork, and delivering exceptional care to patients and clients.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
