Our client is a hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, seeking a Medical Director to lead their high-quality small animal practice. Working Hours / Rota
This position can be full or part time. The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, and is closed on Sundays.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This position requires an experienced veterinarian. As the Medical Director, responsibilities include mentoring and developing associate veterinarians, partnering with the Practice Manager to build an engaged and healthy team, and ensuring continuous improvement in patient care and client service. The role includes setting and upholding high standards of medical quality, conducting performance discussions, coaching DVMs on professional development, and fostering a culture of teamwork and retention. Additional duties include supporting hospital performance goals, overseeing compliance with medical and DEA regulations, leading monthly doctor meetings, supervising externship and mentorship programs, and representing the hospital within the community. Clinical responsibilities include preventative care, general medicine and diagnostics, dentistry, and surgery.

Team

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
